This round and full sculpture is reminiscent of uneven ground and highly metallic colors found in the minerals of the earth. The opening at the top is shaped as an organic eye, which seems to look out over the earth; thus its name.

I made this piece by combining the thrown foundation with wrapped layered slabs of clay. This dramatically changes the shape; glazes enhance the sculpture nature of this lovely piece, reminding one of a quiet place to reflect.

Spring is the season for mating. Here, very abstractly, I have intertwined two seals with their heads attached together and mouths open, barking in their ritual. Wonderful copper colors shimmer on the round and full body of this piece.
